The Kirios de Adrada “Ricotí” is a wine that is dear to our hearts. The idea behind it was to contribute to the recovery and conservation of the Dupont’s lark (chersophilus duponti), an endangered steppe bird that lives in only a few “parameras” (flat, dry areas with little vegetation) in Spain and Africa. In our part of Spain it is to be found, very specifically, in an area known as the “Páramo de Corcos”.
For each sale of this wine one Euro will go towards restoring and protecting the habitat of the endangered Dupont’s lark in the Páramo de Corcos.
The cultivation of our vines takes place at more than 900 metres above sea level. Ecological methods are used in both the cultivation of our vines and in the making of our wine. Our wine has the great “Ribera del Duero” label.
IN THE GLASS: Lots of depth. Black-cherry red with hints of purplish-red and purple highlights. Intense, almost black. Clean and bright.
ON THE NOSE: Medium intensity, with hints of blackberry and violet typical of the local Tempranillo variety. Playful wine, floral, enjoyable. Swirling the glass brings out a bouquet of violet and black fruit.
IN THE MOUTH: Sweet, silky tannins. Tasty wine, inviting and fresh at the same time. It pairs well with turbot or sole in sauce, but ideally enjoyed with a T-bone steak or sirloin. Hints of blackberry and black cherry.
